Aren't you bored of disappointment?
Time and time again you've tried to place blame
Out of sight and out of line
You live every day the same
Another night at the top of the stairs
Listening in, the only way to really know what you're thinking of me
Another night alone, sleepless, scared
Falling out, our night routines
Settling for familiar defeat
At least soon me and the morning will meet
Aren’t you tired of expectations
Time and time again you think I’ve done you wrong
But what’s the need in all your doubts
And I know it won’t be long…
Until another night at the top of the stairs
Head in hands, the only way to truly know how tomorrow will be
Another night alone, sleepless, scared
Watching my words but causing a scene
Settling for familiar defeat
At least soon me and the morning will meet
It's time for the album that started it all... Let me tell you how I got into the works of Liam James Marsh. Well... I've purchased "Premonition" by Rachel Thomasin, and Bandcamp proposed me to follow a fan who had bought it, too. Luckily, the same fan purchased "Limerence / Fucked #4" right after that, which tempted me to peek into this album - "and now you know the rest of the story". So it's a lucky coincidence... as usual on Bandcamp... Sven B. Schreiber (sbs)
"Short Story Picture Book" is Liam James Marsh's cooperation project with lyricist Leah Short. The music sounds pretty much like his "Kid Chameleon" solo works, except that he didn't write the lyrics. So be prepared for a couple of stunning alternative country miniatures. "Short Story" is the first part of a pair of EPs, the other one, coincidentally, titled "Picture Book". Sven B. Schreiber (sbs)
